About the Item
An Edwardian oval diamond lattice brooch with a certificate central natural pearl weighing 4.23 carats, surrounded by two diamond laurel details, set in a platinum lattice all within a diamond border and surmounted by a diamond set bow, the estimated total weight of old brilliant-cut and rose-cut diamonds 2.50 carats, all millegrain set in platinum, circa 1900, measuring approximately 5.6 x 3.2cm, gross weight 13 grams.
This antique brooch is in good condition for its age. Unmarked tested as platinum.
This wonderful brooch, c. 1900, comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. The lattice-weave design of the brooch is reminiscent of a basket, especially when paired with the diamond bow and flowers featured on this piece. Naturalistic and romantic, this brooch would be a lovely accessory on the lapel of a jacket.
