Antique Austrian Oval Cufflinks in 14k Gold with Ebony
About the Item
A superb pair of double-sided cufflinks handmade in Austria in the early 20th Century.
The cufflinks are rendered in solid 14K yellow gold and feature four oval discs in rich, black ebony. Each pair is joined by a spring loop connector, also in solid gold. Materials and workmanship are excellent. A virtually identical pair is featured in the reference book "Precious Cufflinks" written by Franz Hemmerle and Duke Alexander von Württemberg.
The four oval faces each measures 16 by 11mm. Together the cufflinks weigh 9.68 grams. They show only a very light patina, with absolutely no chips, cracks or other structural issues.
The cufflinks and connectors all bear numerous Austrian hallmarks.
Despite being roughly a century old, these cufflinks are strikingly modern thanks to their clean design. They're versatile enough to be work for formal, business and casual occasions.
