Art Deco Cufflinks in Platinum with Rock Crystal and Diamonds
About the Item
Absolutely spectacular Art Deco cufflinks featuring large, rectangular, rock crystal "batons" wrapped in platinum and studded with small, old mine cut diamonds.
The four rock crystal batons are hand-carved; each features diagonal lines on one side. They measure 31.3mm (approximately 1 1/4 inches) in length and 10.5mm (approx. 0.4 inch) square. Together the cufflinks weigh just under 33.4 grams.
The batons are wrapped in a platinum band bearing a total of 69 small, old mine cut diamonds. Three small diamonds have been lost in the 100 years since these cufflinks were made; two are on the underside of the cufflink and therefore not visible when worn.
The cufflinks are joined with safety-pin style connectors, enabling them to be put on and removed easily despite their large size.
The cufflinks have no cracks but show several small "flea bite" chips to the rock crystal batons as well as the diamonds. These are only visible upon close examination and do not detract from the breathtaking effect of these amazing jewels.

- Condition:Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. The rock crystal and diamonds show several "flea bite" chips. Three of the 72 original diamonds are missing; two of these are on the underside of the cufflinks and not visible when worn (see photo). The price reflects all of these considerations.
