Pair of Mellerio Nail and Horn Cufflinks

About the Item

A fine pair of Turn-of-last-Century cufflinks, each cufflink comprising a nail and hunting horn motif, with chain fitting, all in yellow gold, signed Mellerio 2355M, bearing Fench hallmark for 18ct gold, circa 1900, the horm measuring approximately 2.7 x 1.5cm, gross weight 19 grams. This pair of cuflinks is in perfect condition. A striking pair of gold cufflinks. These cufflinks each feature a detailed gold horn on one end of the fitting and a gold horse shoe nail on the other. Sculptural and handsome, these cufflinks were made in the early twentieth century and are wonderfully modern. These cufflinks were made by Mellerio, the French jewellery house founded in 1613 that is known for its royal patronages including Queen Marie Antoinette and Empress Josephine. These cufflinks come from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. Should you choose to make this purchase we will delighted to send it to you in a Bentley & Skinner handmade leather case packed in a gift-wrapped Bentley & Skinner black and gold presentation box. Shortly afterwards we will send you on a valuation for insurance purposes for your reference and safekeeping.
