Art Deco Double Strand Pearl Cocktail Necklace
About the Item
This Art Deco Double Strand Pearl Cocktail Necklace features 2 strands of Natural Cultured Pearls ranging from 6.5mm-7.5mm. With a circular 14KT Gold clasp inspired by the French Art Deco period, containing smaller Cultured Pearls, 12 Round cut Green Garnets totaling 0.20 carats, & 12 Nearly Colorless Slightly Included European cut Diamonds totaling 0.75 carats ranking an F-G Color; VVS2-SI2 Clarity. Clasp separates in two, and the double strand may be doubled over to make a 4-strand when re-fastened. Cultured Pearls became popular on the U.S. market in the 1920s, and have played a part of the commodity trade since Ancient Roman times. Coveted for centuries, Pearls are the world’s oldest gemstone. The Louvre in Paris holds a piece of Pearl jewelry found in the sarcophagus of a Persian Princess dating back to 420 B.C. One of the most iconic fashion figures, Coco Chanel, would be fond of such a necklace, as her jeweled passion was Pearls.
