Victorian Carved Agate and 0.40ctw Diamond Shell Pendant
About the Item
A darling shell pendant from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Grey agate has been carefully carved and polished into a shell. A single Old Mine Cushion Cut diamond weighing approximately 0.40ctw represents a pearl, resting within a prong setting riveted through the shell. A 14kt yellow gold backing cradles the back of the shell, the remnants of a pin setting hand-marked with an underlined "16". A simple bail rests at the top of this setting, and the shell is ready to be attached to a favorite chain! This pendant would be a perfect addition to any Victorian collection.
The shell measures 15/16" excluding the bail. It is approximately 11/16" wide and 5/16" deep.
