An absolutely fabulous and unique diamond and agate pendant from the Edwardian (ca1910s) period! This very unusual piece portrays 2 sparkling diamond rings and a lovely bow resting on top. The pendant, which is fairly large in size, is crafted in platinum and features a combination of old Rose and Mine Cut diamonds and an ornate round moss agate at the center. The outer loop mimics the look of twisted ribbon, coming together at the top to form a feminine bow. Each coiled fold of "fabric" is lined with with three sparkling old Rose Cut diamonds and the knot of the bow is portrayed by a large, old Mine Cut diamond which weighs approximately 0.55ct. The smaller, interior ring is comprised of sixteen old Mine Cut diamonds which each rest in a milgrained bezel setting and deliver an incredible sparkle. Finishing the design is a round moss agate stone at the center which is golden yellow in color and displays an idyllic nature scene which has naturally formed within the stone. The image has the appearance of tall pine trees which are growing within a marshy setting and the golden stone fades from yellow to deep orange, giving the look of a soft, fading sunset. The overall diamond weight of the pendant is approximately 2.45ctw. The piece, which was originally worn as a pin, has been since converted to a pendant for modern day wear and hangs from a fluted bail at the top. Truly a work of art, the unique piece would make a wonderful addition to any collection! The pendant hangs approximately 1 1/2" long, measures 1 1/8" at the widest point and 1/4" thick.

Condition:

Wear consistent with age and use. The overall condition of the pendant is excellent. Besides normal surface wear, there is no apparent damage to the platinum setting and the agate stone as well as all of the and diamonds are intact and securely set.
