THIS IS A RARE MUSEUM QUALITY ART NOUVEAU - BELLE EPOQUE FESTOON NECKLACE WITH THE MOST GORGEOUS NATURAL OVAL AND PEAR SHAPE AMETHYST GEMS SET IN A GORGEOUS SCROLL ACANTHUS LEAF MOTIF SETTING IN AN OPEN WORK FESTOON SWAG DESIGN IN STERLING SILVER DATING TO CIRCA 1890-1900.
It is very rare to find antique Art Nouveau Festoon necklaces in Sterling Silver. The combination of the gorgeous silver work with the purple amethysts is absolutely magnificent. The art nouveau scrolling acanthus leaf design is of the highest quality. The stunning amethyst gems are oval faceted jewels with a faceted pear shape drop at the bottom. The festoon necklace hangs beautifully around the neck. Finding an art nouveau amethyst festoon necklace is such a delight and we are so happy to be able to present it to you.
The necklace is 16 inches (40cm) long. The central portion is 4 1/4 inches wide and it hangs down 3 inches (7.5cm).
The central Amethyst is 14mm by 10mm by 7mm and is 5 Carats. The pear shape amethyst is 15mm by 8mm.
