THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL AND RARE ANTIQUE ENAMEL JEWELS WE HAVE SEEN. THE ART NOUVEAU, MODERNIST PENDANT HAS AN EXQUISITE IMAGE OF AN ANGEL PLAYING A MUSICAL STRINGED INSTRUMENT. THE DESIGN OF THE ANGEL IS AN EXTRAORDINARY MODERNIST MASTERPIECE. THE PENDANT IS FROM BARCELONA AND IS SIGNED BY THE MAKER. BARCELONA WAS THE CENTER OF THE MODERNIST MOVEMENT AT THE TURN OF THE LAST CENTURY. THIS JEWEL IS EXTRAORDINARY. THE ANGEL'S HAIR, CLOTHING, LONG DELICATE HANDS, CURVING WINGS AND HER TUNIC ALL ARE IN THE HIGH MODERNIST, ART NOUVEAU, FORM. THE ANGEL PLAYS A GUITAR, VIOLIN, LYRE, BANJO OR OTHER STRING INSTRUMENT. SURROUNDING THE ANGEL IS AN EXQUISITE HALO IN BLUE AND GREY ENAMEL. THE COMBINATION OF THE MAGNIFICENT ANGEL IN SILVER WITH THE GORGEOUS ART NOUVEAU COLORS OF THE ENAMEL CREATES A RARE MUSEUM QUALITY JEWEL. THE PENDANT DATES TO C1880-1910.
