Jade Pendant Apple Green Certified Untreated Midcentury
About the Item
A stunning jade pendant featuring an apple-green cylinder of certified natural and untreated jadeite jade, wrapped in a slender platinum band and set with several tiny white diamonds. A sugarloaf cabochon sapphire is set neatly in the center. A hoop of 14K gold encloses the jade cylinder and from this hoop handles a very gemmy, natural blue sapphire bead, followed by a nearly imperial-green jadeite jade bead.
My guess is that this one-of-a-kind necklace was created between 1950-1970 using as the cylindrical base, a former stick pin. The platinum band is significantly older than the rest of the piece and has probably belonged to its long, slender jade counterpart since the Art Deco era.
A thick (3.3mm) 21" 14K yellow gold chain, welded to the circular pendant, completes the piece. The chain closes with a box clap and has a security snap. In addition to being completely unique and absolutely cool, this is a highly durable pendant that you can wear every day without worry.
