Late Victorian Pearl Diamond Gold Twin Heart Cluster Ring
About the Item
A late Victorian natural pearl and diamond twin heart ring, the ring comprising two interlocking hearts, each set to the centre with a natural pearl to a rose-cut diamond-set border, with diamond-set bow surmount, all grain-set to a yellow gold mount and tapered D-section shank, head measuring 1.7x1.8 cm, circa 1880, gross weight 7.5 grams. Finger size M
This ring is in fine condition. Unmarked, tested a 18ct gold.
A beautiful late Victorian ring. This twin heart ring features two lovely hearts, each set with a nacreous natural pearl that is surrounded by a frame of glittering diamonds. The two hearts are tied together with a detailed diamond-set bow, adding to the romantic sentimentality of this gorgeous piece. Twin heart rings such as this were popular in the Victorian era as gifts for one’s sweetheart, and this piece is a gorgeous example of the style. This piece comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales and would wonderfully complement a feminine broderie anglaise dress.
