Carved Emerald and Diamond Ring
About the Item
This colorful Art Deco platinum ring, dating from the 1920s, is set with a floral-carved emerald cabochon weighing over eight carats, framed by sparkling diamonds. The substantial emerald is carved as a blossoming flower with full and elongated petals, framed by bead-set round diamonds and flanked by diamond baguette shoulders above a pierced gallery. With its bluish-green dome, this elegant period ring reflects the important influence of Indian gem-carving arts on Art Deco design, while its fun size and luscious color make it glamorous candy for the hand.
