A stunning floral cocktail ring, masterfully created entirely by hand and featuring the entire bloom of a real orchid that has been transformed to preserve its beauty for eternity. A row of small white diamonds frames each petal, and the flower supports a lively gold and green frog, created with brilliant tsavorite, which gently holds a luminous Australian South Sea pearl (15 carats) in its mouth. The frog's eyes wink with sparkly round diamonds. The base of the ring has been created with 18-karat white gold, the frog's body is 18-karat yellow gold. This objet d'art is inspired by and made directly from the brilliance of the natural world. It is distinctly creative and fantastical. The veins of the flower's petals and its shades of purple, mauve and delicate butter glow with vitality and conjure the delicacy of butterfly wings. If you haven't yet seen them, tsavorites are a gemstone from the garnet family that was discovered in 1967 in Tanzania and again in Kenya in 1971, near the Tsavo East National Park. Tiffany & Co took such an interest in this green gemstone which ranges in colour from light to a deep, rich green that they proposed the name tsavorite in honour of the park. Across the top of the hand, the ring measures 3.9 centimetres, and lengthwise down the finger it is 4.2 centimetres. The apex of the pearl reaches about 2.2 centimetres off the hand. The photographed ring is a 12 EU/6.5 US ring size and measures 1.8 cm diameter, but it can be re-made to any size on request. Custom pieces require one month to make and cannot be returned.
