Antique Augsburg or Hanau Type German Silver Repoussé Beaker or Drinking Mug

About the Item

A fine antique sterling silver beaker or cup. With a stepped rim, profiles of a man and a woman front and verso (possibly a king and queen), and repoussé decoration throughout with fruit and foliage above gadrooning and a thin plugger formed foot. Simply a wonderful early beaker! Date: 18th or 19th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: There are some dents and bending to the foot rim, some light dents and indentions to the body, and some light edge wear. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marks: Marked the base with a Fleur de Lys and a crown hallmark to the base and another rubbed mark and a maiden's head to the side wall. Measurements: Height: ca. 3 7/8 in. Diameter: ca. 3 in.
