Pair Antique 18th/19th C. English Sheffield Silver Plate on Copper Wine Coasters

About the Item

A fine pair of antique Sheffield silver plate wine coasters. In the form of wirework baskets. With Sheffield type silver plate on copper and turned wooden bases. Simply a great pair of Period wine coasters! Date: Late 18th or Early 19th Century Overall Condition: They are in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: Both coasters show copper bleeding through the silver plating. Both have persistent tarnish. One or two of the wires are detached from their solder points (not really impacting the overall look or stability). The wood of both coasters is slightly warped (with checking or a split to one). There are light dings, indentations, and bending to the metal throughout. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Marks: Unmarked Measurements: Diameter: ca. 6 1/4 in. Height: ca. 1 7/8 in. Items purchased from this dealer must delight you. Purchases may be returned for any reason for a period of 7 days.
