Angaben zum Objekt

Olga Antonova "Two Silver Cups with Portrait Reflections on Polka Dots" Oil on Canvas 24 x 18 Inches Olga Antonova’s subject is compositions of extraordinarily elegant, beautiful and whimsical cups, plates, teapots, and dishes, but there is something playful about these paintings. Stacked teacups are also amusing, having a kind of jaunty and upbeat personality of their own. Polka dots are as endearing to adults as to children, and everyone responds to the bling and sparkle of gold and silver while marveling at Antonova’s seemingly effortless ability to paint these radiant details. This particular work includes a double self-portrait of the artist at her easel seen as reflections in the two metal cups. Antonova's compositions are a wonderful twist on the classic traditions and formality usually associated with still life painting. This work is unframed. Antonova's paintings can be installed individually, they also work well in groupings as part of a series. Commissions incorporating one’s own personal collection of family heirlooms is also an option. Her works have been exhibited in 34 solo exhibitions and in over 60 group shows in the US and Europe, articles have regularly appeared in “The Boston Globe,” “American Art Collector,” “Art News” and “The Boston Herald,” and her works are included in numerous private and public collections including the Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Museum, Rutgers University. Antonova ist außerdem Empfängerin eines Künstlerstipendiums für visuelle Kunst, das von der Stadt Sacramento, Kalifornien, vergeben wird. Olga Antonova has been represented by the Beth Urdang Gallery since 2006.
