Columnar I - Original Sculpture
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Atticus Adams' organically composed modern metal sculptures embody the transformative power of contemporary art, illustrating the creation of beauty, meaning, and emotional impact from industrial materials. Using mostly aluminum mesh—generally found in screen doors, windows, and filters—he creates contemporary abstract sculptural artworks and installations, which resemble flowers, clouds, and other natural phenomena. Working in metal, Adams effortlessly transforms rigid material into airy, effervescent artworks. This 35-inch high by 10-inch wide by 8-inch deep tabletop sculpture created from aluminum mesh, gesso, acrylic paint, metal leafing, rivets, wire, and grommets on a metal stand. Size and price include stand. Atticus works spontaneously, feeling his way toward the objects that take shape in his mind as he shapes them almost entirely by hand. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and worldwide shipping. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Atticus grew up in West Virginia, steeped in traditional folk art. Several members of his family are self-taught artists, deeply involved in such crafts as wood carving and quilting. His formal art training includes stints at Yale, Rhode Island School of Design, and Harvard’s School of Architecture. Atticus has fond summer memories of screened-in porches back home and screen doors that practically dissolved the barrier between inside and outside, allowing the warmth and nature to permeate each day. This association continues to resonate in his art. “Metal mesh is a beautiful, flexible material that allows you to explore shadow and transparency in endless ways,” he says. “The material lends itself to these biomorphic shapes, which aren’t necessarily intentional . . . The sculptures seem fragile but are actually quite resilient—like nature itself.” A well-known sculptor, the organically inspired artworks of Atticus Adams are held in public and private collections and are exhibited in galleries and museums across the United States. Marilyn 2 - Original Monroe Mixed Media String Artwork
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Ricky Hunt’s work is influenced by Egyptian hieroglyphs, graffiti and his tumultuous past that led to a paradigm shift in creativity and life. On his sculptural and three-dimensional mixed media artworks he covers the wood panel with carefully placed nails and creates intriguing portraits with thread woven through the nails. The harmony of the overall filography composition finds its way through his intricate threading of yarn into a cohesive visual statement. Hidden within the patterns and markings of this string art portrait are limitless points of interest, constantly revealing the imagery in a new way for us to discover. His works have been exhibited at galleries and art fairs internationally, including Los Angeles, New York, Zurich, Hong Kong and London. This unique mixed media artwork measures 48 inches high by 43 inches wide and 3 inches deep. The shadows cast by the nails and black thread add a three-dimensional texture to this monochromatic artwork. It is wired and ready to hang. It does not require framing. It is signed and dated by the artist on the back of the artwork. Free local Los Angeles delivery. Affordable U.S. and global shipping available (this artwork ships in a crate). A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Philosophy, mathematics, scientific theory, poetry and astronomy are a few of the themes that run through his paintings and he expresses it with unique imagery. Hunt describes his contemporary imagery as, “Chaotic order pouring from the watery depths of my unconscious”. Ricky Hunt lives and paints in Los Angeles. A brief period of drug addiction in the 1980's led to a term of incarceration for the artist. This in turn led to the discovery of his artistic talent and personal transformation through the love of art. He found inspiration in artists such as Basquiat and Haring...

Fiber painting: 'KER'
Located in New York, NY
The words used in the artworks come from the indo-european root √Ker, which contains a bunch of auspicious meanings, which can be associated with vibration and rhythm and, together, with the flesh as well as with the head and the heart, developing a semantic collaboration that becomes a story. The heart and, on the other side, the brain, by vibrating, make the energy they generate flow in the flesh and animate it. The duo was officially born in 2017 with the RAR project, which focuses on the value of the analogy in literature. At the heart of their investigation is the dynamic that leads reading to become writing, and other way the user to become a creator, a maker, mixing roles. The exchange that is established guarantees the transmission, that it goes beyond repetition and finds its completion in transformation. The eternity of an experience, whatever it is (physical, material, emotional, intellectual), is measured by its capacity to be an eternal breeding ground for discovery and knowledge. Their work was exhibited in solo shows by art galleries, such as Raffaella De Chirico Contemporary Art in Turin and Manuel Zoia Gallery in Milan, and in Art Fair such as ArtVerona and WOP in Lugano (CH). In 2021, they were finalists in the Cramum Award. Between October 2022 and January 2023, they took part in the World Textile Biennale – Italian Act, a series of three exhibitions curated by Barbara Pavan. In January 2023 they attended their first group show in New York at the Ivy Brown Gallery.

Snakish (Curvy Abstract Minimalist Encaustic Wall Sculpture in Black and White)
Located in Hudson, NY
Abstract minimalist three-dimensional wall sculpture in black and white "Snakish II", made by Hudson Valley artist, Donise English, in 2022 hand-stitched paper, beeswax (encaustic) and thread 36 x 10 x 3 inches hangs with a small thread notch on back extremely lightweight, weighs no more than 1.5 lbs. Excellent condition and ready to hang This abstract minimalist three-dimensional wall sculpture was made by Hudson Valley artist, Donise English, in 2022. The playful motif of hand-stitched paper, layered with black and white acrylic paint and coated with encaustic, is inspired by the artist's interest in architecture and blueprint drawings. The winding segments of white and black encaustic layered paper are assembled in a curving, snake-like formation, which are then hand-sewn by the artist. The lightweight wall sculpture hangs with a small thread notch, installed by the artist on the back of the piece. About the artist: Donise English is a Poughkeepsie-based artist who received her MFA from Bard College and is currently a Professor of Studio Art at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY.Donise English has received numerous awards including a 2018 New York Foundation for the Arts Fellowship in Painting; the Invitational Award for Outstanding Contemporary Talent from the University of Bridgeport, Connecticut; Purchase Prize from the “11th National Juried Exhibition” at the College of Notre Dame of Maryland; 1st Prize, “Women in the Visual Arts,” Erector Square Gallery, New Haven, Connecticut; the Joseph A. Cain Memorial Purchase Award for Sculpture, Del Mar College, Texas, Honorable Mention; and others. Artist Statement: I am interested in drawing and collaging multiple layers of information that refer abstractly to maps, architectural drawings and blueprints or patterns and structures found in such things as roller coasters, power lines and fences. I use gouache and collaged paper in a series of layers that are a visual and ideological response to the previous layer to define my pictorial space. For each piece I create a set of rules to follow about the use of a limited palette, a grid format, opacity of paper and whether a piece may include curving lines or maintain a rectilinear structure. Resume: EDUCATION Master of Fine Arts in Painting Bard College 1986 Bachelor of Science in Art History State University College at New Paltz 1977 Additional Study: New York Studio School (Drawing Marathons) Columbia University, School of Architecture Women’s Studio Workshop TEACHING Professor of Studio Art, Department of Art and Art History, Marist College, Poughkeepsie,NY Coordinator, Interior Design Program, Florence, Italy campus 1992-present AWARDS Finalist, “Saatchi Showdown” 2010 Invitational Award for Outstanding Contemporary Talent, University of Bridgeport, CT 2000 Purchase Prize, “11th National Juried Exhibition” College of Notre Dame of Maryland, Baltimore 1999 First Prize, “Women in the Visual Arts ‘95” Erector Square Gallery, New Haven, CT 1995 Joseph A.
