Ramp Figure, Bronze Sculpture, Black color by Modern Indian Artist "In Stock"
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
K.S. Radhakrishnan - Ramp Figure Bronze Sculpture H 12.75 x W 7 x D 6 inches K.S. Radhakrishnan working with Musui & Maiya, Musui potraits has a hand Rickshaw puller as is still prevalent in few parts of Bengal. The bronze figures are elfin, mischievous, airy, acrobatic, and archaic, delicately balancing on one hand or leg. He renders a sensuous quality to his works by deploying extraordinary body movements of his figures. Radhakrishnan is a distinctive and appealing presence on the modern Indian sculpture scene. He says: “For me bronze works best because it is strong, and brings out the character of my sculptures. Although it takes time, the process also becomes a part of my art form.” Style : K.S Radhakrishnan is one of the most notable among the new generation of sculptors. Like many of his contempories he is a figurative sculptor, but his preference for modelling and bronze casting sets him apart from the rest of them. Recharging age old sculptural processes with a new sensibility, thus is the singular challenge he brings to modern Indian sculpture. And this makes him a modernist - who approaches his work with discernible ambition and considerable aplomb while steering clear of brinkmanship. Radhakrishnan's works often drawn from the emotions and myths of the Hindu gods, such as Shiva, Kali and Radha. His sculptures are often larger than life-sized; placed in the outdoors, they evoke a superhuman atmosphere. Over the years, Radhakrishnan has experienced with alternate sculpting mediums, working in molten bronze, beeswax and Plaster of Paris. The physical process of working with the materials becomes a performance in itself. The sculpture is the product of a tactile engagement with his medium. With celebration of sensuality as one of its running themes, his works is at once both intimate and universal in its appeal. A personal commemorative sculpture, with a scale and presence that holds well in natural settings, his work has found permanent home in a number of public collections all over the world. About the Artist and his work : Born : Born 1956, Kerala. Education : 1979 : B.F.A. in Sculpture, Viswa Bharati University, Santiniketan, West Bengal 1981 : M.F.A. in Sculpture, Viswa Bharati University, Santiniketan, West Bengal. Euroscape -2, Mixed Media on Canvas, Red, Blue by Contemporary Artist "In Stock"
Located in Kolkata, West Bengal
Asit Poddar - Euroscape - 2 - 8.5 x 8 inches (unframed size) Mixed Media on Canvas. Style : It is not enough to say that Asit Poddar is a multifaceted and greatly talented artist. Not only a gifted watercolorist, Poddar is also experienced and very well established in the fields of filmmaking, animation, photography, publishing, graphic designing and printmaking. For this artist, firsthand experience was a great source of inspiration. To look into the past - both recent and distant - is a creative process. It is this continuous flow of the past and the present that reflects richly in his paintings. In his works, you can see what he saw in his extensive travels to South Asian and European countries. You can feel the silence he felt on the mountains and revel in the world he sees through his mind's eye. His fluid lines and watercolor fills capture everything that Poddar takes in, from the vast expanse of high ominous peaks and deep dark gorges in black and white to the city of Varanasi and the river Ganges in vivid color. Human figures are missing in the paintings, but it seems like this is part of the artist's effort in his intent to leave a strong imprint in the mind of the viewer. About the Artist & his works : Education : 1980-82 : International Animation and Photography Institute, Japan 1972-77 : Government Art College, Kolkata. Selected Solo Exhibitions : 2011 : 'Mindscapes', Galerie Serafin, Vienna 2010 : 'Euroscapes', Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai 2008 : Kanishka Art Gallery, Kolkata 2007 : Educatorio della Provvidenza, Turin, Italy ; Cymroza Art Gallery, Mumbai & Chitrakoot Art Gallery, Kolkata. 2006 : Penzenau Castel, Mereno, Italy & Right Lines Art Gallery, Bangalore 2005 : Habiart, Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi & Hacienda Gallery, Mumbai 2004 : House of Lords, London, UK & Artworld, Chennai 2003 : Hacienda Art Gallery, Mumbai ; Castella Monte, Italy & Cymroza Art Gallery, Mumbai 2002 : Chitrakoot Art Gallery, Kolkata & Right Lines Art Gallery, Bangalore 2001 : Chitrakala Parisath, Bangalore ; Habitat Centre, Delhi & Artists Centre, Mumbai 2000 : Genesis Art Gallery, Kolkata 1999 : Gallerie La-Ruche, Tokyo, Japan 1997 : Kunjeon Art Gallery, South Korea 1996 : Koga Art Museum, Ibaraki, Japan & Kunjeon Art Gallery, South Korea 1994 : Birla Academy of Art and Culture, Kolkata. A Suite of FIVE Vine Charcoal on Rag Paper. Simple clean lines of nudes compares to Picasso's line-drawings. Nudes in corsets and fetish wear in black and white with a splash of red. The texture of the rag paper picks up the softness of the vine charcoal. These come matted and framed. Showing all of the suite plus installation of works. About the Artist: Kathleen was born in NYC and grew up on Long Island, the first of five children. She was drawing before she could write; it just came naturally, and was the way she loved to spend her time. At 10 she could capture photorealism drawing horses, and later fashion sketches. Her art has always evolved around woman and investigating elements of feminine roles in our society. She now resides in San Diego. Her corsets and bobby pin...

'Red Karo Sphere' original hand-blown glass signed by Ioan Nemtoi
Located in Milwaukee, WI
Ioan Nemtoi's 'Red Karo Sphere' could easily become a centerpiece of any space or of any collection of glass art. The large oval form of the vase and the bright red color has a commanding presence. In addition, the artist's use of a grid-like pattern in the vase is striking, while regions of green and yellow remind of gestural Abstract Expressionist painting. 16 x 15 x 15 inches Signed 'Nemtoi' along the base Ioan Nemtoi was born in 1964 on a farm in Trusesti near Dorohoi, in North-Eastern Romania, as the eldest son of a large family. When Nemtoi was in the fifth grade, one of his teachers noticed his artistic talent and sent him to art school. Later he went on to the art branch...
