About the Item

French American Frédéric Choisel is inspired by the cities of France, New York and the Bay Area and creates elegant abstractions that tell a story of urbanized grace. In this series, the artist considers six colors, through painting with oil and gold leaf on paper. The combination of metal and and pigment have a mysterious quality that holds a viewer — In part, due to the constant changing light as it is reflected by the metal leaf. Like artist Gerhard Richter, Choisel's experimentation has moved him from photorealism to abstraction. His journey is ours to enjoy. Works from this series are stunning on their own, or hanging paired, or in a series. See images. The elegant artwork is 13 1/2 x 10 inches and archivally mounted to 8ply museum board, and then professionally framed is a floater frame with a gold face and dark edge. The frames outer dimensions are 14 x 11 inches. Colors range from green to yellow and gold. ‘Abstraction is movement - One moves towards abstraction by moving away or being liberated from the preconceptions of the mind.’ —Frédéric Choisel From Andra Norris Gallery in California, USA
