About the Item
Before the Party is an intriguing abstraction that speaks to fantasy and imagination. Wemaere is known as part of the CoBrA group in Europe and his works are sought after and distinctive. Often there are figures and or animals in his works that have a dreamlike feel to them and here we see him just suggesting that there is an interaction going on. The light quality in the work is lovely and it is well painted and beautifully framed in a sleek modernist frame of white lacquer.
The canvas itself is 13 x 18 so size listed is with its wide frame.
His works are difficult to find in the United States. Adds a distinctly contemporary and edgy feel to any spot and is an investment quality painting.
