About the Item

Fascinating scene of battle between cavalries with the typical broad and concise brush stroke by Graziani, who is able to create brilliant points of colour. This composition is very similar to an other his work in a private collection (Modena). Francesco Graziani (Capua; II half of XVII century) Best known as "Ciccio napoletano", “Napoletan Ciccio” was always associated with military art. Bibliography: G.
