Frédéric Blaimont is a witness of his time. A French painter, he studied at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and at the École d'Art Graphique (Kunstgewerbeschule) in Basel, Switzerland in the early 1970s. He fled the student revolution of 1968 that was raging in Paris and to which he did not take sides because he was not politicized and only wanted to paint. Since he was 15 years old, he painted characters that are today the touch of his incomparable style. He worked for 30 years in advertising before devoting himself exclusively to his painting. He says he encountered a dilemma between advertising and painting, which are completely different disciplines and have distinct criteria.
