1956

About the Item

Pablo Picasso (1881 - 1973) "Femme vue de Dos" from Temoignage by Jean Cocteau (Bloch 822) The book Testimony (an homage) by Jean Cocteau. Etching 1956, the original signed edition of 125 published by Pierre Bertrand, Paris. This is a later pressing on wove paper with full margins, sheet 565 x 444mm Signed in the plate (as part of the print) to lower right, which is why it is backwards. When he dated and signed on the etching plate it was the correct way - but it gets reversed when you press it to paper to make the print. This is an excellent impression of this very scarce print and in very good condition. Framed with grey inner mount and cream outer mount and simple black frame.
