Matisse's Persian Woman - Sculptural Ode to Henri Matisse in Hand Built Ceramic
By Sandy Kaplan
Located in Chicago, IL
Henri Matisse collected Persian carpets, Arab embroideries and African wall hangings throughout his life, his studio becoming a treasure trove of exotic and vibrant pattern. The collection was practical — it was the impetus for various works with voluptuous women surrounded by rich textures and patterns. Sandy Kaplan takes Matisse's work to a three-dimensional level in her ceramic piece simply titled "Matisse's Persian Woman".

Lichtenstein's OHH. .ALRIGHT - Pop Art Ode to Roy Lichtenstein Ceramic Sculpture
By Sandy Kaplan
Located in Chicago, IL
Roy Lichtenstein's works were often inspired by comic characters. They were angsty women, often appearing to be in distress. In this particular work, a beautiful, fraught woman with a furrowed brow grasps a telephone in both hands as she says "Ohh ... Alright ..." Lichtenstein lets us imagine the back story - and what might happen next. Kaplan's sculpture is a direct reference to this Lictenstein's iconic pop art painting of 1964.

Outsider Art Wall Sculpture: 'TEXACO'
Located in New York, NY
Gérard Cambon was born in 1960 in Toulouse (Fr).
He has a degree in political science and is a self-taught artist.
In the earlier years of his life practiced and experimented with collage and model making. Later, with an interest in old machines and patinas he started collecting old and used objects, tools, and fragments of items whose previous lives remained obvious. When he travels, one of his greatest pleasures is to find materials in antique shops or ironmongeries.
In 1994, he began creating Locomobiles and reliefs and presented them to the public for the first time at “La Jeune Peinture,” a Parisian art fair.
In 1995 , he stayed during 8 months in the hospital for eight months (leukaemia) where he began preparing and creating plans for new Locomobiles and reliefs. As his health improved, he committed himself to his artwork and during the same year met a Parisian gallery owner who decided to organize a solo show for him, Le Galerie Beatrice Soulie in Saint Germain des Pres.
He has shown his work since 1996 in Paris and since 2000 in the United States (New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle). He is currently being shown by galleries in France, Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg , Denmark, and the United States.
He keeps on trying out new materials (fabric, leather, glass, plants, metals,…) that he integrates into his bas-reliefs: traction engines...

Drake lives on a ranch near Glen Rose, Texas. Originally hailing from a small ranching community in northwestern Colorado, she has been around horses most of her life. After that, she focused on figurative art, taking multiple workshops at Scottsdale Artist's School. She works with both water- and oil-based clays, and creates realistic figures of the athletic human form, horses and other animals.
Her work has been accepted into juried competitions such as: Bosque Art Classic, the American Academy of Equine Art Museum show, The Texas Masters of Fine Arts and Crafts, the Breckenridge Fine Art Show, the Mountain Oyster Show, Little Rock's "Sculpture at the River market", Cattlemen’s Western Art Show Loveland Sculpture in the Park, and the Museum of Western Art
Awards include "Best of Show" 2016, at Breckenridge Fine Art ShowIn 2017, the Museum of Western Art in Kerrville, Texas acquired one of Drake's pieces for permanent exhibition. In 2019 and 2020, Drake was selected to be one of two sculptors who taught elite art students at the Western Art Academy at Schreiner University, Kerrville Texas.
Artist's Statement
What is "ART" if it doesn't arouse strong emotion from the viewer?
I strive to express strength, grace, motion, rhythm, and beauty. Working in the mediums of both water- and oil-based clays, I look for topics that will allow me to express symmetry, balance, rhythm, and motion, as well as beauty. My subject matter comes from my own imagination. I have always been an animal lover, and I have always been fascinated with the grace, beauty, and strength of true athletes.
My favorite tool is a kitchen paring knife...

Since childhood, Kerry Green has always been creative; painting, drawing, sculpting, and sewing. Her family provided her with materials and encouraged her efforts. She literally grew up in her parents’ art galleries, and with them toured the U.S.,
Europe, Mexico, Japan, and New Zealand, seeing museums and visiting artists’ studios. Growing up in Arizona and New Mexico gave her the opportunity to explore the Native reservations there where she has made life-long friendships. Several of her very early influences were Dr. Harry Wood...

William Sweetlove, born in Ostend, Belgium, in 1949, unites dadaism with surrealism and pop art in humoristic sculptures that at first sight may seem “kitschy”. However, closer familiarity with his works reveals their role as a creative antidote to the overproduction and overconsumption of our society. With his cloned animals William Sweetlove calls for greater ecological awareness and urges us to reflect on the consequences of the climate change challengeing humanity. His cloned dogs wear boots since the sea level rises and the penguins carry water bottles since we are runnig out of drinking water. William Sweetlove has had exhibitions at art fairs, galleries and museums all over the world. His works are found in several private art collections. He has also participated in different art manifestations worldwide together with the Italian Cracking Art Group. The community of Borås acquired the sculpture “Cloned Frogs on Gala Dress...
