Artist: Fernando Soler
Myakka Glory, Oil Painting
By Fernando Soler
Located in San Francisco, CA

Artist Comments
A profusion of greens and rust, artist Fernando Soler was inspired by Florida's natural landscape. Blues are flecked into the shadows reflecting the expansive soft blue sky. "The stillness of this landscape is only broken by the occasional sound of a lonely hawk searching for a mate and an easy meal," says Fernando.

Island Boat Yard, Oil Painting
By Fernando Soler
Located in San Francisco, CA

Artist Comments
"City Island is Sarasota's largest boat storage location," explains Fernando. "These old vessels are waiting for the day when they can sail the waters of the Gulf of Mexico once again." Part of Fernando's signature series of nautical scenes capturing the watercraft, wildlife and landscape of his native Florida. He regularly travels, making sketches, taking notes and shooting photographs to later reference in his studio. The result is detailed, intimate paintings that radiate the stunning light and tropical breezes of the Sunshine State.

About the Artist
Artist Fernando Soler illuminates the Florida coast with vibrant seascapes. Being immersed in fine arts, as well as having been a charter captain, Soler has always been drawn to the ocean. Any location that inspires him turns into a sketch, is taken to his studio, and is brought to life with acrylic and oil on canvas. "My paintings reflect nautical themes, and nature in general, with the impressionist color palette in mind." Fernando enjoys listening to jazz from the sixties and seventies to inspire his creative process. When he is not painting, you can find him golfing, visiting fine restaurants and pubs in the city of New Orleans, or playing jazz on his trumpet. Fernando's creations have been showcased in both New York and Florida. He is an alumnus of Ringling College of Art and Design.

City Island Bait Shop, Oil Painting
By Fernando Soler
Located in San Francisco, CA

Artist Comments
"This old bait shop on Sarasota's City Island is a place that takes you back to a simpler time when live shrimp was the favorite bait for those who drifted the bay waters for speckled trout and other types of school fish," says Fernando. Part of his signature series of nautical scenes capturing the watercraft, wildlife and landscape of his native Florida. He regularly travels, making sketches, taking notes and shooting photographs to later reference in his studio. The result is detailed, intimate paintings that radiate the stunning light and tropical breezes of the Sunshine State.

"Cedar Hill"
By George William Sotter
Located in Lambertville, NJ
Jim’s of Lambertville is proud to offer this artwork. Signed lower right. Original Period Newcomb Macklin Frame George William Sotter (1879 - 1953) Born in Pittsburgh on September 25, 1879, Sotter began his art education with local teachers and with Henry G. Keller, who had studied in various German academies. Keller, known for his superb, atmospheric watercolors, taught at the Cleveland School of Art but Sotter studied with him in Pittsburgh. Later Sotter would exhibit between 1903 and 1937 at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. His works were also shown at the Corcoran Gallery (1912-23), the Carnegie International (1901-26), the National Academy of Design (1913 and 1921), and at the Art Institute of Chicago (1911-27). In 1915, Sotter exhibited four works at the Panama-Pacific International Exposition in San Francisco, where he won a silver medal. Sotter was known mainly as a stained-glass artist; his work may be seen from New York City to Salt Lake City. Around a dozen craftsmen worked under him for these commissions. Sotter spent the summer of 1902 with Pennsylvania impressionist Edward Redfield in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Between 1910 and 1919, Sotter taught at the Carnegie Institute of Technology. His paintings often feature large areas of sky filled with clouds and he frequently painted winter night scenes, such as Moonlight, Bucks County (Beacon Hill Fine Art), a perfectly successful depiction of a quiet, moonlit landscape filled with twinkling stars. Star-studded skies, although rare in landscape painting, go back at least to 1600 when they appear in the oeuvre of Adam Elsheimer...
