He currently lives and works in New York City and Tossa De Mar Spain. The newer pieces bring to mind other artists whose work also investigates the structure and support, including Molly Zuckerman-Hartung, Elizabeth Murray, Ron Gorchov, James Hyde, Rosy Keyser, and Fabian Marcaccio. His first exhibition was Painting Beyond The Idea at Manny Silverman Gallery in Los Angeles, CA in 1995, and the most recent exhibition was TEN at Hionas Gallery in New York City, NY in 2021. Dennis Hollingsworth is most frequently exhibited in United States, but also had exhibitions in Germany, Spain and elsewhere. Hollingsworth has at least 27 solo shows and 67 group shows over the last 26 years. Hollingsworth has also been in no less than 14 art fair. A notable show was Dennis Hollingsworth - Wet On Wet at Blum & Poe in Los Angeles, CA in 1996. He was included in the show “Under Erasure” at Pierogi Gallery curated by Heather and Raphael Rubinstein. Artists included: Jean-Michel Basquiat, Mel Bochner, Jane Hammond, Dennis Hollingsworth, Glenn Ligon, Richard Prince, Robert Rauschenberg, Nicole Eisenman and Antoni Tapies. Horizontal minimalist abstract acrylic painting in color fields of aqua, deep blue and black. oil and alkyd on canvas in a Larson Juhl black wood recessed framed Inspired by stones, stains from nature, erosion and artists such as Rothko and Sam Francis, Snow produces meditative fields of brilliant aqua, blue and black color by layering oil paints with a fast drying alkyd medium. The network of layers are bound to a complex under-painting with broad bands of pigment while the rapid drying alkyd allows Snow to continue the succession quite quickly, revealing beautiful boundaries of color. With his painting Snow strives for purity, seeking depth without illusion, using horizons of colors as a harmonious language to create chords, scales and tones. The artist has exhibited extensively in the New England region and has shown with Carrie Haddad Gallery for more than ten years. Prof. Richardson is the Chair of the Department of Art, he received his MFA degree from Washington University in St. Louis, and his BFA degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He joined the faculty at Maryland in 1978 and has maintained a professional focus on abstract painting and contemporary art theory. His work has been featured in 21 solo and over 100 group exhibitions in museums, galleries, and art centers in Washington, DC, New York, NY, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Missouri, Ohio, Georgia, Minnesota, Illinois, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Texas, and internationally in Brussels, Russia, Jordan and Algiers. His work is currently represented by G Fine Art in Washington DC. Past gallery affiliations include Fusebox in Washington DC, and Baumgartner Gallery in DC and NY. Richardson has received numerous grants and awards for his work, including five Maryland State Arts Council Visual Arts Fellowships. Commissioned artwork is permanently installed at Ronald Reagan National Airport and Reston Town Center in Virginia. His work is held in numerous public and corporate collections, including the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden (DC), the Corcoran Gallery of Art (DC), the Ackland Art Center (NC), the U.S. Department of State (Algiers), the District of Columbia Town Hall, Prudential Life (NY), IBM Corporation (DC), Richmond Federal Reserve Bank (VA), Washington Post Corporation (DC), Northrop-Grumman (VA), and Reston Town Center (VA). PATRICK WILSON (b. 1970, Redding, CA) received his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of California, Davis in 1993 and his Masters of Fine Art degree at Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, CA in 1995. For abstract painter Patrick Wilson, aesthetic beauty and visual pleasure are primary concerns. Using drywall tools, paint rollers, and masking tape, Wilson layers lines, squares, and rectangles in meticulously balanced compositions that, with the use of vivid color, evoke a palpable sense of light.
