This piece is one of few examples of D'Haese's (1934-2023), in collage. Known primarily for her tongue in cheek large-scale marble sculptures. This piece is more contemplative. Playing with ideas of the 70s, and onwards, influenced by Agnes Martin and the like, this piece is directly playing with the feminine.
Delicate semi-circles lift from the ground divided into four quadrants, sometimes plain, sometimes heavily textured. The composition is complex yet undeniably playful.
