1959/1960 CHRISTIAN DIOR haute couture black silk bubble dress

Incredibly rare, black couture dress with wrap top and bubble skirt trimmed in knit from Christian Dior dating to c. 1959/60. Dating the dress to 1959/60 means the dress was most likely designed by Yves Saint Laurent. Incredible construction with interior corset and multiple layers of crinoline. Top secures to bottom with hidden poppers. Top wraps and secures with hooks and bottom zips at center back of waist. Corset has two rows of hooks. Dress best fits a size 4 (photographed on a size 2 mannequin). Dress measures approximately 33-34" at bust, 25-26" at waist , 12" in arm length and 43-44" in overall length. Made in France. Excellent condition (some light breaks to lining at arms which is only visible when turning the dress inside out and a slight bit of wear on sleeve cuffs).
