Oscar de La Renta Paisley Print Palazzo Jumpsuit, 1970s

About the Item

Dominican born designer Oscar de la Renta is a legend in the realm of fashion. Launching his own brand in 1965 after working for iconic designers such as Balenciaga, de la Renta quickly established himself as the standard for class, elegance, and glamour. From the 1970s, this elegant silk palazzo jumpsuit features a psychedelic paisley print in shades of magenta, purple, chartreuse, bright blue, green, and yellow. Gold lame flecks are interspersed throughout, adding luster to the mesmerizing display of color. The bodice begins with a sleeveless jewel neckline and features a beautifully draped attached cape overlay that brings a fullness to the otherwise columnar silhouette of the jumpsuit. The sheer overlay has a ruffled high low-hem that reaches three quarters of the way down the arms at the front, creating the illusion of angel sleeves—and reaches nearly halfway down the length of the jumpsuit at the back for a more dramatic effect. The overlay may be worn as a cape, or can be gathered and pulled back over the shoulders for a sleeveless look. Size estimate: SML/MED Measurements: Bust: 36 inches Waist: 26 inches Hips: Rise: 15.5 inches Inseam: 28 inches Out seam: 41.5 inches Total length: 58 inches The wide palazzo pants fall from the high, fitted waistline above the hips to just above the ankles in ruffled, fluttering hems. A effortlessly chic and comfortable addition to the discerning fashion lover’s wardrobe, this glamorous 1970’s jumpsuit is the perfect choice for an evening soiree or special occasion. This Oscar de La Renta jumpsuit fully lined in magenta silk, has concealed zip and hook closures and two side pockets. In excellent condition, this gorgeous 1970’s jumpsuit has been professionally eco dry cleaned and pressed. High-quality vintage pieces like this are yours to live in and love while increasing in value every year. It’s never too soon to start collecting them, as an investment in your wardrobe—and in yourself.

  • Missoni Pink Gold Knit Maxi Dress Cardigan Necklace Beret Set, 1970s
    By Missoni
    Located in Boca Raton, FL
Missoni is defined by its impressionist color stories and signature knit designs. The designs speak to the idea of simplicity with the value always being in the fine details. Done in a silky rayon crochet knit, this 1970s Missoni ensemble is made from gradients of dusty rose, blue-grey, pale yellow, and gold to create an overall warm, beachy feeling dress set. The cardigan drapes from a rounded neckline into elbow length sleeves. The undulating drape compliments the wave-like ribs in the fabric. A rather boxy silhouette, the softness of the drape and the movement of the colors give it a lighter feel. Underneath, the dress showcases a more textured, horizontal knit design that adds dimension and movement to the ensemble. The dress hugs the figure from the torso through the hips and from a dropped waistline falls into a straight maxi skirt. The fun doesn’t stop there. This ensemble also features a matching beret done in the same wavy knit style as the dress bodice and necklace made from a rope of the fabric threaded through circular carnelian beads. A picturesque sunset wrapped neatly in a matching ensemble...
