Japanese Asian Four-Panel Folding Byobu Showa Hunting Hawks Falcons Bird Screen

About the Item

A beautiful and engaging four-panel Japanese Byobu folding screen depicting three distinct tethered and tamed hunting birds of prey - hawks or falcons (Takagari) - sitting upon their perch. The rich colors, gold leaf, and beautiful hand-painted details of the birds and silk textiles make this an attractive and special work. Original decorative period brass hardware adds another wonderful touch. The screen also retains its original "Made In Japan" label on the verso. This wonderful hand-painted screen is sure to stand out in almost any setting whether used as a divider or hung on the wall as a work of art. Would also be a great addition to any Japanese or Asian screen/art collection. Dimensions: 36" high, 70.5" wide, .6" deep. Folded dimensions: 36" high, 18" wide, 2.5" deep.
