About the Item

Ears with long, pendulous lobes that touch his shoulders frame his face. The Buddha's hair is arranged in the typical neat rows of tight curls. The pronounced ushnisha topped. by a tall lotus bud finial.
The Buddha wears the standard monastic robes, with one shoulder and arm exposed. A cloth draped elegantly over his other shoulder. The hems with incised decoration.
The Buddha sits upon a multi-tiered stylized double lotus pedestal, set on a larger trapezoidal platform. The pedestal decorated with incised designs.
Remnants of gilding to the neck and base indicated the figure was fully gilt at one point. Areas of the bronze with red cuprite patina, indicating possible burial.
