Mid-18th Century George II Carved Pine Chimneypiece

About the Item

A fine mid-18th century George II carved pine chimneypiece, the central tablet carved with the head of Aurora, God of the dawn in the sun burst of the new day, flanked by a frieze enriched with generous sprays of acanthus leaves, capped with a tiered shelf punctuated by finely carved dentils, egg & dart, and bead & reel mouldings. With some later restorations and replaced elements.
