Late 18th C. Italian Carved Wood Tilted Display Bowl, Approx. 2 Ft Long
About the Item
An Italian carved and painted wooden bowl for display, from the turn of the 18th and 19th century. This antique bowl from Italy is oblong in shape, with front end/head tilted upward. The body is embellished with carved acanthus leaves and c-scrolls, an extended leaf crest adorns the top, and it is raised upon thickly carved c-scroll feet. The finish is primarily green, with gold accents and there is a wonderfully aged patina throughout. This late 18th century Italian bowl, just over 2 feet in length, would be a wonderful display for fruit or dried flowers/herbs on a kitchen island or dining table. It would also make a beautiful decorative item for the holidays.
