Rare Art Deco Bowl, Danesby Ware Line by Denby, England
About the Item
A classic example of Art Deco design, its swirling vortex embellished with stylized blossoms, this rare bowl was produced by Denby pottery in England. The glazes are lovely -- a purplish gray contrasting with a muted green and hydrangea blue. Denby was founded in the early 19th century, and like many other potteries, produced stoneware and practical pottery for many decades. By the 1920s and 1930s, it started to produce artistic pieces, and even later, dinnerware.
