"Seaside Scenes, " Unique Art Deco Bowl with Fishing Village Scenes

About the Item

Whimsical and vividly glazed, this fabulous, unique Art Deco bowl depicts two contrasting scenes from a rural seaside village: a father and son fishing at the shore, and a young woman and man, the former offering a piece of fruit to the latter like a modern day Eve and Adam. Probably crafted in Italy in the 1930s, the bowl is brilliantly hued, with gorgeous tones of cobalt, rust and lemon.
