About the Item
Rare mid-17th century English bone inlaid and brass mounted oak center table box, the top and sides inlaid with compass stars in bone and ebonized fruit-wood, the edges with bone and oak inlaid gadrooning, the corners mounted with double balustrade shaped brass mounts on an oak ground, on turned bun feet, and having an original checkered red and white paper lining. Unusually the back is decorated to appear as the front.
