Hand Blown Octagonal Murano Glass Box in Smoked Garnet

This sophisticated modernist decorative box was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. It features a volumetric octagonal body with a translucent Murano glass exterior and a chambord glass interior. The lips of the box- where the top and bottom- adjoin are finished with a rectilinear polished chrome border which offers a beautiful compliment to the dark purple hues of the glass and testifies to the fact that no detail (no matter how minute) was overlooked in their fastidious construction. With their clean modernist lines, exquisite Murano glass, and refined color palate, this box is as much a functional vessel ideal for presenting small keepsakes, as an objet d'art in its own right that promises to beautify any surface that it graces.
