Modernist Hand Blown Murano Glass Box in Smoked Bronze with Brass Detailing
About the Item
This beautiful modernist decorative box was realized in Murano, Italy- the island off the coast of Venice renowned for centuries for its superlative glass production. It features a volumetric rectangular body with a translucent Murano glass exterior and a smoked bronze glass interior. The blush smoked bronze form appears like a floating oval housed within the body of the box, and also has subtle hints of 24kt gold flecks. The lips of the box- where the top and bottom- adjoin are finished with a rectilinear polished brass border which offers a beautiful compliment to the warm bronze hues of the glass and testifies to the fact that no detail (no matter how minute) was overlooked in their fastidious construction. With its clean modernist lines, exquisite Murano glass, and sophisticated color palate, this box is as much a functional vessel ideal for presenting small keepsakes, as an objet d'art in its own right that promises to beautify any surface that it graces. It is in excellent condition.
