About the Item

A matching pair of candlesticks number 11, designed by Carl Malmsten in 1927 for Liljeholmens Stearinfabrik. Black painted birch. Malmsten designed a series of candlesticks for the stearine candle manufacturer during a challenging economic period when electric lighting had supplanted candles and oil lamps. To entice customers back, the renowned designer Malmsten was enlisted to craft candlesticks for the company.
