Tall Late 19th Century Brass Repousse Church Pricket, Candlestick

About the Item

Originally used in a French chapel, this exquisite brass repousse pricket or candlestick from the late nineteenth century stands at over two and a half feet tall and features intricate detailing of acanthus leaves and laurels, as well as geometric designs, rosettes, and drapery. The triangular base is adorned with religious symbols which include a lamb, the divine triangle, a sheaf of wheat and grape leaves. Standing on lion's paws feet, this pricket can hold a candle with a diameter of up to six inches. c. 1890. Measure: 30-in height.
