Murano Elephant Sculpture by Ercole Barovier for Barovier & Toso, 1950s

About the Item

Item in a perfect condition. The figurine comes from the famous island of Murano, where one of the best glass in the world is produced. Beautiful glass with a very interesting and rare color - olive with white elements in the form of fangs and eyes. The elephant comes from the Barovier & Toso factory, one of the most renowned on the island of Murano. It was designed by Ercole Barovier himself - the owner of the label (since 1934) and one of the best designers on the island of Murano. The elephant is made very realistically. The project most likely from the period 1930-1950. These elephants also appeared in the colors of amber, turquoise (uranium glass) and the most popular - transparent glass with embedded gold flakes.
