Antique miniature bust of "The Smile of Reims", in original: "L´Ange au Sourire" or "Sourire de Reims". This bronze represents the smiling angel of Reims. The Smiling of Reims is a sculpture created around 1250 on the facade of the cathedral of Reims. Its name comes from the cheerful, restrained smile of the angel who is depicted. Reims is a city in the region Champagne. Its cathedral of Reims is one of the architecturally most significant cathedrals in France. The most striking feature of the cathedral is its west facade, richly decorated with reliefs and figures - a magnificent example of high Gothic, medieval sculpture art. This exceptional beautiful bronze work is nicely chiseled and gilded. Signed by the artist at the side. Positioned on a black and white marble base.
