Nymphenburg Porcelain Figurine of the Disturbed Slumberer/Der Gestörte Schlummer

About the Item

A fine antique Nymphenburg porcelain figurine. Entitled "Der Gestörte Schlummer", which translates to English as "The Disturbed Slumber". After the 18th Century Frankenthal Porcelain model modeled by Johann Friedrich Lück. Depicting a sleeping gallant attended to (and being awakened by) two maidens. The gallant is sleeping on patches of grass that are supported by a stylized Rococo rocaille base. Simply a wonderful antique Nymphenburg figurine! Date: Early 20th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with no repairs noted. Condition Details: There is some light fritting to the foot rim and there are some losses to the ribbons throughout (ribbon loss noted to the man's shoe, one maiden's sleeve, and the breast of the second maiden). Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Maker: Nymphenburg Pattern: Der Gestört Schlummer Marks: Bears the impressed Nymphenburg shield factory mark / impressed 1116 / impressed 1 / a green painted 'Germany' mark / a Carl Thieme blue underglaze factory mark and 1949.
