Doulton Lambeth Rare Pair Silver Mounted Rose Water Flasks
About the Item
A very rare pair Doulton Lambeth silver mounted rose water flasks decorated with Art Nouveau styled floral designs by Miss O Heath and Winnie Bowstead and dating from 1920. The stunning pair stone ware bottle shaped flasks stand on flat round unglazed bases with tall round bulbous shaped bodies and with narrow raised ball shaped necks mounted with silver rims and fitted silver topped cork stoppers. The bodies of the flasks are decorated in tubelined relief with tall leafy stems with flower heads applied to the bases. These are decorated in green and blue within white outlines and set against a honey brown mottled ground. Both have impressed makers marks to the bases along with matching numbers 4898 and with artist marks. Both have London silver assay marks for 1920.
