19th Century French Hand Painted Porcelain Vase

About the Item

This elegant and colorful antique vase was created in Longchamp, Burgundy, circa 1890, round in shape with high sloping shoulders and body tapered towards the base, the tall ceramic vessel features hand painted bird and foliage motifs in the blue, green and white palette. The birds in high relief are perched on branches decorated with green leaves. The Napoleon III barbotine vase is in excellent condition with rich patinated colors and embellished with gilt accents. Measures: 9.5" diameter 16" height.

    A set of two crater vases from the second quarter of 19th century, century 1825-1830, made of porcelain of France, crafted in the factory of Mortelèque in Ixelles (near Brussels), Belgium and painted by the artist Frédéric Faber (1782-1844).
