Very Rare Japanese Antique Pottery Jar/Beautiful Glaze/Wabisabi Vase/10th-11th
About the Item
I would like to introduce a very rare Japanese antique pottery pot.
This is Japanese Sue pottery.
Sue pottery is called "sueki" in Japanese.
This type of pottery originated in Japan around the 4th or 5th century.
Earthenware, which was traditionally fired at low temperatures, can now be fired at high temperatures thanks to the development of kiln technology.
Firing at a high temperature makes the pottery harder and less likely to crack.
This is Sue pottery that was fired in eastern Japan around the 10th to 11th centuries.
A very beautiful natural glaze.
Ashes from the kiln pour down on the natural glaze, which melts and transforms into a beautiful green glaze. It is an accidental art, a beauty of nature that cannot be created by human intention.
This item expresses it very beautifully, and it has a different expression when viewed from any angle of 360°.
Also, there are some bumps that look like lumps, and they are shaped like this because the air contained in the clay of the pottery expands.
This interesting shape is very cool.
It has an atmosphere of wabi-sabi.
It is also beautiful when decorated with flowers.
I put water in this vase about 1/3 and left it for 24 hours, but there was no water leakage.
Note that this vase is wobbly due to unevenness in that part.
It stands on its own without any problems, but is a little unstable.
Please stabilize it by sandwiching a small piece of wood or something.
This vase also comes with its own storage wooden box.
This is a very valuable item that is hard to come by.
Highly recommended.
