French Sèvres Centerpiece Art Deco Coupe with Metal Details

About the Item

French Sèvres Centerpiece Art Deco Coupe with Metal Details. Unique design and very practical. Fine metalwork with stamped Art Deco medallions circling the top. Additional stepped base with more details, and a “Greek key” design going around the faceted stem which supports the coupe of all original and original ceramic. Sèvres is associated with fine porcelain characterized by elaborate decoration on backgrounds of intense color. It began in the Sevres suburb of Paris in the 1750s. This coupe would make a great piece for your table or buffet. These are sometimes referred to as fruit stands. Designed and made circa 1930's, this one is in superb original condition. Any defects are factory manufactured. The burnt orange color has great depth and this is a very special piece. It was manufactured for a shop in Buenos Aires, Argentina in the 1930s as there is a metal stamp on the underside showing the name “Casa Vignes on Florida street”.

  • Art Deco Longwy Primavera Charger
    By Atelier Primavera au Printemps
    Located in Oakland, CA
Longwy ceramic Art Deco charger, over 16 inches in diameter. Artist signature Olesseruez designed and executed by Primavera atelier. The Primavera design studio pieces manufactured by Longwy are some of the most collectible and highly sought after period ceramic pieces from this golden era of Longwy earthenware production. Primavera was the design studio of the Paris department store “Les Grands Magasins du Printemps”. They tend to be more cutting edge, modernist and artistic designs. This is a rare model, not a typical Primavera production and is also signed directly by the artist and the stamp from Atelier Primavera not seen often. The design renders the monotone artistic still life of fruit in a bowl with...
