Miles Mason Porcelain Trio Finely Hand Painted & Gilded Pattern 470, circa 1808
About the Item
This is a fine porcelain blue and gilt trio comprising a coffee cup, tea cup and saucer in pattern number 470 made by Miles Mason (Mason's), Staffordshire Potteries, in the early 19th century George 111rd period, circa 1805-1810.
All pieces are well potted, the cups having a loop handle with the distinctive Miles Mason thumb rest spur.
All pieces are finely hand decorated in pattern 470, with rich hand gilding over mazarine blue, as illustrated on Page 148 of the book; Miles Mason Patterns and Shapes, produced by the Mason's collectors' Club. All three pieces are also hand gilded around the rims and the cups have a gilded ring just above the foot rim and solid gilding to the outer handles.
The pieces are all unmarked to the bases as was often the case, but are definitely by Miles Mason.
