Thomas Forester Floral Painted Art Pottery Vase
About the Item
A stunning antique Thomas Forester hand painted art pottery vase decorated with large flowering blooms dating from around 1890. The lightly potted earthenware vase stands on a narrow round unglazed foot with slightly recessed base with a bulbous shaped round body and with a pinched short neck and round bowl shaped top. The body of the vase is hand painted in loose style with trailing stems with large blooms applied colours on a speckled brown and pale green ground. The vase has the customary treacle yellow glazed base and is not marked.
Provenance: Acquired in the UK Art Market.
In good condition with a small touched in glaze chip to top rim and fine age crazing to the glazed finish.
