William de morgan - MASSIVE ALHAMBRA VASE C.1898

About the Item

A rare and huge scale Alhambra vase by William de morgan. This is something i have not seen before and as such is a rare model. It is decorated in Alhambra form with obvious Persian influences to the shape and design. It is one coloured as the vase was made to show the shape rather than a pattern that might overshadow the form. Condition - A few minor frits but overall excellent, there are some production glaze slips to the glaze leaving some white patches but there from production and not flaking. The mark to the base is one normally found on tiles which adds to the interest! Measures a huge 22" in height.
